Plastering

A smooth surface for the next stage.

What is plastering?

Plastering applies a wet plaster finish to internal walls and ceilings. A skim coat provides a smooth surface over a suitable background, while float-and-set work uses a backing coat followed by a finishing coat.

What is it used for?

It is used to finish new plasterboard, renew suitable existing surfaces and bring walls and ceilings together before decoration. The background condition determines the preparation and plaster system required.

What the work involves.

We agree the preparation and finish for each area, with attention to corners, openings and junctions. Drying time and the next trade’s requirements are considered within the programme.

  • Wall and ceiling plastering
  • Skimming and float-and-set work
  • Detailing around openings, corners and stairs
